Ian Thorpe on Same Sex Marriage Results

Ian Thorpe Says He Was Anxious About the Result

Before the result of the same-sex marriage survey was announced this morning, Ian Thorpe told Sunrise that he was "not prepared for a No". Likely, he didn't have to be! Australia voted for marriage equality in the majority, and speaking to ABC News the ex-Olympian and Yes Campaign activist said, "I was really anxious about this result because it is such an important outcome for so many people across the country."

At the end of the interview (not featured in the clip), Ian was asked if he had any marriage plans of his own, and he was quick to dismiss the comment pointing out that the law hasn't changed yet.
