After years of struggling with endometriosis and going through IVF, Thessy Kouzoukas today announced she is pregnant. In a moving video posted on Instagram, she contrasted the lowest moment of her endometriosis treatment with the thrill of hearing her baby's heartbeat during a sonogram.
Thessy, one of founders of Sabo Skirt, has been open about what it means to live with endometriosis, and going through IVF. Earlier this year, she recorded a 30-minute YouTube video where she talked about living with endometriosis. She shared that she had frozen her eggs to ensure the invasive surgery required to treat a large ovarian cyst wouldn't prevent her from having biological children. Her fiancé Georgio also opened up about his anxiety and stress around IVF.
Other women who suffer from endometriosis took to the comments of that video to thank Thessy for her openness and encouragement.
Thessy's best friend, business partner and sister-in-law Yiota gave birth to her first child, a son named Connor, in January. No wonder they've expanded into kidswear.
