Airbnb Brought Barbie’s Malibu Dreamhouse to Life – Here’s How to Book

As it turns out, the Barbie Dreamhouse is more than just a place for the doll to park her pink Corvette. This week, Airbnb announced that it’s offering a free two-night stay at Barbie’s real-life Malibu Dreamhouse, courtesy of Ken. (Yes, just Ken.)
The house has been listed on Airbnb in the past, but this is the first time it’s been available since Ken and Barbie gave it a makeover. (Don’t worry, Barbie’s signature all-pink aesthetic is still the prevailing decor theme.) Guests will also be able to stay in Ken’s western-themed bedroom, complete with a life-size horse statue, for the first time.
The oceanfront mansion features panoramic views of the water and an expansive outdoor entertaining area. For the full Dream Life experience, you can slip into a Barbie-inspired swimsuit and take a dip in the infinity pool, throw on a pair of roller skates and hit the disco dance floor, or mix and match pieces from Ken’s closet with your own Barbiecore wardrobe.
“We all have dreams, and Barbie is lucky enough to have a house full of them,” Ken said in a press release. “But now, it’s my turn, and I can’t wait to host guests inside these one-of-a-kind – dare I say, one-of-a-Ken? – digs.” Exclusively available on July 21 and July 22, bookings will open on Monday, July 17 at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET) on Airbnb’s website. The stay, which accommodates two guests, will be free of charge, though visitors are responsible for their own travel to and from the Malibu mansion.
It’s not exactly the Dreamhouse from Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” movie, but that’s probably for the best considering the set was missing several walls. Ahead, take a look at some of Ken’s favorite rooms in Barbie’s real-life Malibu Dreamhouse.

Stepping into Ken’s bedroom – aka the Kendom Saloon – involves pushing past an actual set of saloon doors. Inside, the cowboy-themed bedroom is decked out with cowhide rugs, a neon cowboy hat, and other western-inspired decor. The pink-and-white accent wall behind his bed is also lined with a row of cowboy hats to match the outfits in his closet.

A closer look into Ken’s closet reveals a “K” letterman jacket, multiple tops adorned with fringe, cowboy boots, and a few sparkly accessories. Each of the fold-open doors also features a mirror for admiring your OOTD.

If you noticed the miniature horses in Ken’s closet, all you have to do is turn around to see this life-size horse in the center of his bedroom. Behind the horse, Ken has another floor-length mirror and a vanity with – you guessed it – another mirror.

Stepping outside, the Dreamhouse also features a light-up roller disco lounge. If you’re lucky enough to stay in Barbie’s home, you will also receive your own pair of neon pink-and-yellow rollerblades, just like Ken.

Barbie’s Dreamhouse also features a relaxing outdoor lounge decorated in pastel shades. During the day, you can play in the sandbox or enjoy the oceanfront view. At night, you can also step outside to peek through the telescope and admire the stars.

Next to the gorgeous infinity pool, the house also features a pink fire pit perfect for enjoying late-night drinks or a romantic evening with your Ken/Barbie.

While Barbie’s away, Ken likes to fill his time with days by the pool and the occasional workout. His outdoor gym setup includes multiple weight-lifting stations and a barrel filled with chocolate-flavored “Beefy Body Brine” – hopefully not his primary food source.

If Ken is ever looking to get away from the Dreamhouse, he also has his motorcycle on deck to enjoy relaxing drives along the beach. (Though, the all-pink house looks like it’s filled with enough Barbie-themed activities to keep us busy for weeks.)
