The 7 Most Meaningful Things I Heard at Oprah's Live Sydney Show
What would you have said if someone offered you a ticket to see Oprah live at an arena? When presenting partner Swisse emailed me, my reply read: "SHUT THE FRONT DOOR." To which they took as a resounding yes.
I've been a die-hard Oprah fan since, well, forever. I've watched so many episodes of her show I think I'm on my second round for most now. Even the really early ones. When I'm feeling a bit directionless, I Google things like, "inspirational Oprah quotes". Or, "the best Oprah interviews". When I told my husband I was going the first thing he said was, "You get a car! And you get a car!" To which we laughed and felt like Oprah herself was hugging us. How good would that be though — an Oprah hug? That would be like your mum's hug times a hundred.
So I guess I went in knowing she would be inspiring, but I left feeling something else entirely. Validated. Validated for always trying to be a good person. Validated for trying to be consistent — as a woman in a leadership role — with the energy I bring each day. Validated for always listening to what she calls our "whispers".
