Canberra's CBD Was Flower-Bombed and the Result Couldn't Be Prettier
On a cold Winter's morning, Canberrans making their way into the city were surprised to see amazing arrangements of colourful flowers bursting out of phone boxes, fire hydrants and public benches. The guerrilla floral installations were care of The Floral Society, a bunch of Canberra-based florists who were celebrating the opening of their new CBD store.
"I wanted to do something a little different to celebrate [the store opening]," said Renee Douros, the store owner. "Our goal was to bring joy to those who walked by on their way to work and encouraged passers-by to pull flowers from the arrangements to eliminate waste. It was our way of gifting blooms to Canberrans for a day."
