You'll Now Be Able to See the World, Gucci Style
Gucci's Princetown loafers or logo belt may have had their moments in the fashion sun, but now would be the right time to start getting used to seeing the luxury brand as more than just a clothing pioneer. First, they announced a homewares collection, and now, the brand has launched a travel venture, Gucci Places.
Gucci Places is a new section in the current Gucci app, showcasing the places around the world that have inspired the design house and reflect its taste and values. Each location will be profiled on the app, detailing its mood, charms, iconic features, all with wanderlust-inducing pictures. Users will also be able to connect their geo-location and be notified when they're in proximity of a featured site, as well as access an information section with contact details and a calendar of events — essentially, an Alessandro Michele-curated itinerary. True to form, the creative director has also included dedicated badges designed for each location to collect as you visit each "Place".
First off is the historical Chatsworth Estate in Derbyshire, England — currently hosting one of Gucci's exhibitions — with more places and features expected to be added to the network over the year. Take a look at the screenshots below and clear your phone storage, because let's just say, if you didn't already have the travel bug, it's about to hit. Hard.
