Base Body Babes on Their Instagram Account Hacking
We're big fans of the Base Body Babes, and very happy to say that their Instagram account is back after it was hacked over the weekend. The fitness-expert sisters Felicia Oreb and Diana Johnson are also social media stars, with their Instagram account, @basebodybabes, a favourite for workout motivation and activewear inspo. The girls had a following of 559,000 and growing, that was up until the early hours of Saturday morning.
Felicia awoke at 4 a.m. and went to her kitchen to grab a glass of water and check her Insta feed (what else do you do when you wake in the middle of the night, right?) but she found she was locked out and her password wasn't working. "It was possible that Diana had changed the password, so I grabbed my husband's phone to check the account," says Felicia. "I saw that the name of the account had been changed to 'dailyfitnessbabes' [the account name went through several name changes including 'finestfitnessgoals'] and our photos had been deleted." When she first looked Felicia saw only 170 of the account's 765 images were left, and they were being deleted one-by-one as she watched.
They immediately emailed Instagram, got a reply and started a chain conversation with the company's customer service. They then went to their Facebook to let their followers know what had happened.
