This Guy Hates Stock Photos So Much, He Decided to Photobomb Them
Some stock photos are so ridiculous, you wonder how the models got through the shoot with a straight face. Thankfully, an animator named Matt Vescovo felt the same way and got a genius idea: to photobomb the pictures with the help of Photoshop.
His funny photos went viral earlier this year, and he wants to create a book full of them but needs your help crowdfunding it on Kickstarter. The goal is to raise $US24,000 by Oct. 1.
"As an art director in advertising, I've spent years sifting through stock photography," he wrote on the Kickstarter page, explaining how the stock photos make him feel uncomfortable because they look so fake. "I can no longer sit idly by as the phonies and fakes of the world go unpunished. Which is why I need to publish this book."
He knows most of us can relate, too. "I'm sure you understand as you yourself have been assaulted by bad stock photography on a daily basis," he added. "My response . . . with Photoshop 6.0 and my own raw emotion I give stock photos what they are missing . . . a soul."
