Apple Just Announced 4 New iPhone 12s (Including a Mini), Here's What You Need to Know
Apple has finally announced all the new iPhone's you can get your hands on later this year during Wednesday morning's Apple Event. From late October, we're going to be treated to 4 new versions of the iPhone 12 — iPhone, iPhone Mini, iPhone Pro and iPhone Pro Max.
Alright, let's get to the good stuff: the camera quality. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini (!!!) both come with a new advanced dual-camera system that features the Ultra-Wide camera and a new Wide camera with an ƒ/1.6 aperture, (the fastest yet on iPhone) that will provide 27 percent more light. (Read: no more shitty lighting for your selfies).
While the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max level up again, offering 4x optical zoom and recording 4K video at 60 fps, which is a first (and a huge deal for content creators). The iPhone 12 Pro Max also boasts a 47 percent larger sensor with 1.7μm pixels for a massive 87 percent improvement in low-light conditions. Your low-light dinner 'grams will never look the same!
All four models are equipped with advanced 5G technology, with the option to drop back to 4G with battery save mode. And, as with every new iPhone release, you'll also get an iOS update that's said to be the most customisable and user friendly yet according to Apple. "iOS 14 delivers a reimagined iPhone experience with new ways to customise the Home Screen. Beautifully redesigned widgets present timely information at a glance and can be pinned in different sizes on any Home Screen page," the press release reads.
It also comes with a new feature called "The App Library", a new space that automatically organises all of your apps into one simple, easy-to-navigate view — Ooft my OCD loves this!
Sadly though, Apple has axed the headphones and power adaptors from the boxes, which is kinda annoying. But apparently, you'll get a new lightning to USB-C cable to make up for it(?).
Oh, and good news if you regularly drop your iPhone like me, it's apparently the toughest iPhone screen yet. Hell yes!
So, which model should you start saving for? Let's unpack, shall we?
