The Red Carpet! The Runway! Tom Ford's Fashion Show Was an Ode to Hollywood Glamour

New York Fashion Week might be holding down the fort on the East Coast, but Tom Ford just pulled his weight over in Los Angeles, where he invited Hollywood’s elite to celebrate his Fall 2020 collection, which is, like much of Ford’s work, very much rooted in ’70s glamour.

“The moment when one first sees a man or woman that takes one’s breath away, or is stunned by a beautiful car or a spectacular room, forms the basis of our tastes and stays with us forever,” Ford stated in a press release. “For me these moments happened in the 1970’s.”

Bella Hadid walked the runway in a dangerous, NSFW chain-mail gown held together by two loosely tied velvet bows. Her sister, Gigi, channeled more of a daytime mood in Ford’s extravagant feathered earrings, which come in a wide array of colors and finishes. Whether it’s something black-tie or a look with a touch more casualness, this collection has the label’s inimitable attitude.

Meanwhile, celebrities like Kate Hudson (in a neon green bralette) and Kylie Jenner stood by, watching the fashion show after taking photos at the step and repeat. One could argue the night was as big as an award show, but it definitely maintained the mystique Tom Ford is known for.
