The Aussie posse was MIA when it came to the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards tonight at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Toni Collette won the trophy for lead actress in a comedy category last year, but the award went to Edie Falco for her role in Nurse Jackie this time around. Rose Byrne attended the ceremony with her brother George and received her second nomination in the supporting actress drama category for her role in Damages but the prize went to The Good Wife’s Archie Panjabi.

Russell Brand may be the star of the upcoming Get Him to the Greek, but behind every funny man there's a hilarious woman. Aussie Rose Byrne, best known for her role on Damages, plays Brand's rockstar girlfriend and female counterpart. As Jackie Q, she's just as raunchy and ridiculous as Brand's character Aldous Snow—and, you'll be glad to hear, steals plenty of scenes in the film.

Jimmy Fallon sang and danced as host of the Emmys in LA last night, and the fun kept coming for him and his wife, Nancy Juvonen, as they moved on to the Governor's Ball with other winners, nominees, and presenters. Mad Men's Jon Hamm raised a glass to his show nabbing its third consecutive best outstanding drama series award—do you agree with its win? New mum Amy Poehler stuck close to Tina Fey, while Kevin Bacon couldn't take his eyes off his lovely wife and best actress in a drama honoree, Kyra Sedgwick.

Rose Byrne and fellow Aussie actor Brendan Cowell have called it quits after nearly seven years together. The two split last month right before the Golden Globes. On the red carpet Rose posed with her co-star Tate Donovan and at the time, I wondered why her boyfriend wasn’t with her.

Rose Byrne is the third Aussie nominated for a 2010 Golden Globe and to be perfectly honest, she's not our strongest chance at a gong. Recognised for her supporting role on theTV series Damages, Rose is, at best, an outside chance.
This is Rose's second Golden Globe nomination for Damages—her first was in 2007.

She’s romanced Hugh Dancy (sigh), faced solar flares with Nicholas Cage (she can have that) and next year she’ll sleaze it up with Russell Brand (hmmm, we’ll get back to you on that one), but it’s in her role as Ellen Parsons on Damages that Rose Byrne truly shines. In the Foxtel drama, the Balmain beauty manages to hold her own opposite Hollywood heavy weight Glenn Close and we’re not the only ones who think so. Consistent nods from the AFIs, Emmys and Golden Globes have made the lovely Rose a regular on 2009 red carpets—much to our’s, and Fab’s, delight.

The Aussie posse was out in full force this afternoon in LA for the Golden Globe Awards. Rose Byrne looked stunning in purple Lanvin and Toni Collette wore a glittery gown. Sam Worthington had girlfriend Natalie Mark on his arm once again and Simon Baker, Jesse Spencer and Ryan Kwanten were looking very handsome.
