Beau Ryan Is the Host of The Amazing Race Australia, But Who Is He Really?

Network Ten

As we get ready to watch Beau Ryan host The Amazing Race Australia, we think it’s only fitting to get to know him.

Before landing the TV gig, Beau played for the West Tigers and the Cronulla Sharks.

Sadly, though, his life hasn’t always been smooth sailing.

Beau Ryan’s Family Life

Beau married his childhood sweetheart Kara Ryan in 2012, when she was pregnant with their first-born daughter, Remi.

A decade on, the pair share two kids together: Remi, nine, and Jesse, four.

While the two are blissfully in love now, things haven’t always been easy for the couple, especially after the former athlete was embroiled in a cheating scandal.

The Cheating Allegations Against Beau Ryan

Three years after tying the knot to Kara, Beau was accused of cheating with his Aladdin and His Wondrous Lamp co-star, Lauren Brant.

Speaking to Woman’s Day at the time, it was Lauren’s former fiancé who spoke out, saying he found out about the affair through text messages while holidaying in New Zealand with the Hi-5 star.

“I didn’t believe what I was reading … I can’t actually describe the feeling,” he told the magazine.

“It’s kind of a punch in the stomach. I felt completely sick and didn’t know what to do. Everything you plan for in life … it’s just shattering. It’s so out of character for her.”

When news broke, Beau took a hiatus from The Footy Show, which he was hosting at the time, and went to Vietnam with Kara and Remi.

“Beau and his family are on holiday spending much-needed time together and we have no comment to make on their personal life,” a Nine spokesperson confirmed at the time.

Upon his return, he issued a heartfelt apology.

“I want to thank everyone for their support … thank you to everyone who has been respectful of my privacy; I would love for people to continue to do that.”

After giving time to his relationship and family, Beau and Kara spoke to Woman’s Day about how the entire ordeal affected them.

“It was like my whole world just fell apart. I was just really upset and embarrassed and all I could think about was my family,” Beau said.

Despite what happened, Kara chose to support Beau, saying she has faith in his character.

“He was still a very beautiful person and a loving father. The grass isn’t always greener, and while it was a difficult situation, running from anything in life is never the answer.”

Beau Ryan’s Career So Far

He may be the host of The Amazing Race Australia now, but before that Beau Ryan played footy for the West Tigers and The Cronulla Sharks.

After announcing his retirement in 2014, the 37-year-old landed a regular role on The Footy Show.

It didn’t take long for his media career to kick off, as he started to fill in for Kyle Sandilands as co-host of KIIS FM’s breakfast show, The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

In 2019, Beau was announced as the host of The Amazing Race Australia, replacing Grant Bowler. He also appears as a regular guest on Studio 10.

This year, Beau even competed on I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! So it’s safe to say he’s booked and busy.
