"FBOY Island Australia": Why Molly Assumed Nick Was an "FBoy"

Love is full of surprises, and sometimes those surprises come in the form of mistaken assumptions. On “FBOY Island Australia,” Molly and Nick proved that first impressions aren’t always accurate.

The show has been a whirlwind of emotions, with Molly, Sophie, and Ziara searching for genuine connections in a unique setting. But it was Molly’s decision to send Nick home that caught everyone’s attention. Initially assuming he was an “FBoy” after a comment he made about “bros before hoes,” Molly made a judgment based on limited information.

Reflecting on her hasty decision, Molly admitted to jumping the gun.

“I think my thing was I did judge him a little bit from a physical perspective. He’s a rather large and handsome guy and I thought, ‘Clearly he gets a lot of female attention’,” she told POPSUGAR Australia.

“And then he said that comment — obviously I couldn’t see all the things that he was saying behind the camera. I had no idea what he was saying about me. I thought I was making the right decision, turns out I didn’t.”

Realising her mistake, Molly pleaded with the producers to bring Nick back. “I begged and pleaded to let them let him come back. And thankfully, the producers agreed because I was a bit worried that I didn’t have anybody to pursue on the island,” she added.

But looking back now, Molly believes that move was necessary for her “FBOY Island” journey.

“I think I needed that. I think I needed to know that he was a nice guy in order to put my walls down a little bit. So it worked out in the end. I had my time again,” she admitted. “I’m not sure if I would do it again, but I’m glad that I had him back and I knew that he was a nice guy. It made it a lot easier for me 100%.”

As for Nick, he was blindsided by the decision, telling POPSUGAR Australia he couldn’t understand why she eliminated him.

“We had such a perfect date and I had so much fun with Molly that day. When I got to the nighttime, I was thinking ‘There’s no way that I’m even anywhere near the chopping block. There’s other guys that she hasn’t even talked to yet’,” he said.

“I said that one comment about ‘bros before hoes’ in a joking manner, but you know, I didn’t think that it would lead to my demise. [It was] a big shock to me. I think it was a shock to all the boys too.”

However, despite the initial turbulence, Molly and Nick’s connection prevailed. The couple split their $50,000 prize money and continue to thrive in their relationship. In fact, Molly is considering a big move to Sydney to be closer to Nick.
