Hunted Australia Winners Stathi and Rob Reveal What They Plan On Doing With Their Prize Money

We still haven’t fully recovered after last night’s intense finale of Hunted Australia.

The debut season of the show kept us on the edge of our seats from start to finish, and yesterday, it all came to an end.

It was a short run, but despite only being on air for a few weeks, Hunted Australia was a rating success.

On Tuesday night, fugitives Stathi and Rob both took home the title and split the $100,000 prize money — each taking home $50,000.

Still flying high from their remarkable win, the both of them couldn’t quite believe they had won the show.

“They did such a good job putting the final episode together,” Rob told POPSUGAR Australia.

“I was scared they wouldn’t be able to capture the intensity and adrenaline of that moment, and watching it, even though we knew the outcome, we were at the edge of our seat.”

After 21 days on the run, both Stathi and Rob are looking forward to spending time with their families while also looking to the future.

While they both took home $50,000, they do plan on splitting that amount with their teammates, leaving them with $25,000.

It’s a big sum of money, and they’re planning on putting it to good use.

“We both actually have the same dream of becoming dads. My wife and I have been together for five years and we’ve been trying for kids for a while so to be able to get this opportunity to go through IVF is incredible,” revealed Rob.

Stathi is also thinking about expanding his family, and the $25,000 is definitely going to bring him one step closer to his goal.

“My dream is to become a single, gay dad. There came a point in my life where I was more content with the thought of being a single father than being in a childless relationship,” said Stathi.

“I was going through surrogacy which is lengthy and expensive, and this win has definitely put me on that pathway, so I’m forever grateful.”

Applications for season two of Hunted Australia are now open, and the boys have a few words of wisdom to share.

“If you’re going to dress as a nonna, wear shoes!” said Stathi with a laugh.
