Meet Marty Fox: The Newest Judge on “The Block” 2023

For the first time in over a decade, “The Block” 2023 welcomes a fresh face to its esteemed judging panel, alongside Shaynna Blaze, Darren Palmer, and Neale Whitaker. Enter Marty Fox, a prominent figure in the world of real estate, and co-founder and director of WHITEFOX Real Estate.

Blockheads may recognise Marty, who successfully sold Harry and Tash’s house in Brighton back in 2020. He also sold Rachel and Ryan’s Gisborne home last season. Marty is excited to join the team as a judge, making this opportunity a milestone in his illustrious career.

“I’ve always respected the show and been very impressed how everyone on ‘The Block’ does business,” he in a press release. “It’s really nice to come back into the show having been on the periphery in the past. It’s almost like a tick for me professionally.”

Who Is Marty Fox?

Residing in the Melbourne suburb of Toorak, Marty has a wife, Charlotte, and three kids at home — Freddy, 6, Olive, 4, and Bonnie, 1. As seasoned property flippers, the couple has renovated an impressive 12 homes over the past 15 years.

When it comes to property styles, Marty’s approach revolves around ensuring the best return on investment. He gravitates towards the timeless charm of old Victorian homes, aiming to guide the contestants on “The Block” to create houses that strike a perfect balance between timeless elegance and contemporary trends.

“The Block” marks Marty’s debut on television, making him only the second real estate expert to grace the judging panel in the show’s history, following in the footsteps of John McGrath from the early series. And TBH, we’re excited to have a fresh perspective on the show.

“I bring a rawness. I always want to be speaking the truth and I won’t sugarcoat much,” Fox told Domain. “From a judging perspective, that’s what these people need; they need honesty… While they’re part of a competition, they need to understand that real-life families are living in these homes.”

“The Block” 2023 premieres Sunday, August 6 at 7.00pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
