TikTok is all the rage these days, so much so that even Instagram wants to become more like the video-sharing app. 

Gone are the days when the app was solely used by teenagers sharing their smooth moves.

Instead, it now features comedic skits, cooking videos and a whole bunch of random content.

Not to mention, the short videos are great for people like me who have extremely short attention spans and find 30-minute YouTube videos far too long (sorry, not sorry).

But something else TikTok is known for is turning relatively old or unknown songs into certified hits.

These days, artists are choosing to market their music through the app by creating dance trends — Lizzo, anyone? — or just somehow trying to get their song circulating amongst Gen Z.

It’s not easy, and to be honest, the songs that go viral are generally ones people would least expect. 

Just a few weeks ago, the 1985 song Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush took off after it was used in an episode of Stranger Things.

The song went on to top the charts almost immediately after the TikTok video was posted.

According to Slingo, the most viral song on TikTok is Adderall (Corvette Corvette) by Popp Hunna, with the track featuring on a whopping 17.3 million TikToks to date.

In second place, we have Måneskin’s Beggin’, with 9.1 million TikTok videos.
