The Bachelor and Bachelorette Australia Couples: Who’s Still Together?

“The Bachelors Australia” is set to return in December, and this year, things are going to be very different.

For the second season in a row, there isn’t just one Bachelor — there’s three of them, and if the promos are anything to go by, we can expect three times the shock, scandal, and of course, romance when “The Bachelors” kicks off.

This year, we’ll be following model and environmentalist Ben Waddell, theologist Wesley Senna Cortes and ex-NRL player turned lumberjack Luke Bateman on their journey to everlasting love, but the 3-for-1 deal we’re getting on Bachelors isn’t the only change viewers can expect to see this season.

Previously, “The Bachelor Australia” has been filmed in Sydney, and fans of the show will know that nothing screams “The Bachelor Australia” like a romantic helicopter date over the picturesque harbours that the city is so known for. But like season 10 of the long-running reality dating series, which was filmed on the Gold Coast, “The Bachelors” filming location has shuffled down to a stunning Melbourne mansion.

It’s been awhile since the last seasons of “The Bachelor Australia” and “The Bachelorette Australia” were on the air, and with the new season just around the corner, we’re feeling excited, nostalgic, and sentimental. So, we figured it was time to do a deep dive into all the couples the show has brought together… or not, as the case may be (looking at you, Honey Badger).

Whether Wesley, Ben and Luke have found their forever loves remains to be seen, but we love a good fairytale romance, and “The Bachelor Australia” has a record of introducing some really enduring, loved up matches! Here’s the status report on all our past couples.

Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich, “The Bachelor Australia” Season 1

Network Ten

It was the romance that started it all for “The Bachelor Australia”, and boy, did they set the bar high for all future Bachie couples! Going strong since 2013, chiropractor Tim and criminal lawyer Anna said their I do’s back in June 2018 and welcomed their first bub — a daughter named Elle — in November 2020. In 2022, the happy couple purchased a new home in the upmarket Sydney suburb of Double Bay.

STATUS: Happily ever after! Married with a baby!

Blake Garvey and Sam Frost, “The Bachelor Australia” Season 2

Network Ten

It was the ‘yikes’ heard ’round the country when our Season 2 Bachie Blake literally proposed to Sam in the grand finale, only to turn around and ditch her for third-place girlie Louise Pillidge.

Blake and Louise went on to date for a few years before quietly calling it quits in 2016. Meanwhile, Sam went on to star in Season 1 of “The Bachelorette”, where she chose Sasha Mielczarek in the finale, but the pair didn’t go the distance. Sam is currently engaged to “Australian Survivor” alum Jordie Hansen.

STATUS: An absolute mess! Broken up.

Sam Wood and Snezana Markoski, “The Bachelor Australia” Season 3

Network Ten

From the second Snez stepped out of the limo, it was honestly game over for all the other hopefuls, and it’s a love connection that’s proved enduring.

After the 2015 finale, Snezana and her daughter Eve relocated from Perth to Melbourne to be with Sam, and in 2017 welcomed daughter Willow — the very first Bachie bub! — into the family.

In an absolutely stunning ceremony, the lovebirds tied the knot in November 2019 and welcomed their second daughter together, Charlie, in July 2019. And following that, welcomed their third child — Harper — in May 2022.

STATUS: Love is real! Married with kids.

Sam Frost and Sasha Mielczarek, “The Bachelorette Australia” Season 1

Network Ten

“Bachelor Australia” fans were thrilled when Network Ten announced that Sam Frost would be the nation’s very first Bachelorette. After being dumped by Season 2 Bachelor Blake Garvey, Aussies were rooting for Sam to find her forever love, and watched as she chose Sasha Mielczarek to be her man in the season finale. Unfortunately, the couple didn’t go the distance, and called it quits after dating for 18 months. In 2019, Sam confirmed rumours that Sasha had been cheating on her.

STATUS: Broken up.

Richie Strahan and Alex Nation, “The Bachelor Australia” Season 4

Network Ten

Richie became our fourth Bachelor after placing third on Sam Frost’s season of “The Bachelorette” and winning fans across the nation in the process. In a surprise twist, Richie ended up choosing Alex Nation over frontrunner Nikki Gogan, which, in hindsight, may not have been the best choice for him?

Richie and Alex dated long-distance for a year before a pretty acrimonious split, one that was discussed in a heated “Bachelor in Paradise” convo when the pair were reunited in front of the cameras.

STATUS: Drama! Broken up.

Georgia Love and Lee Elliott, “The Bachelorette Australia” Season 2

Network Ten

Now this is what we call a fairytale romance. With a mutual love of good food, good wine and bad puns, Georgia Love and Lee Elliott were destined to be from the start, and after a number of COVID-related wedding delays, the couple were finally able to tie the knot in 2021, in an intimate ceremony held in Tasmania.

STATUS: Married!

Matty J and Laura Byrne, “The Bachelor Australia” Season 5

Network Ten

Matty J honestly had us sobbing when “Bachelorette” star Georgia Love dumped him for Lee Elliott, but he got his second chance at love when he became Season 5’s Bachelor.

Even better, Matty found a love of his very own in jewellery designer Laura Byrne in 2017. The pair got engaged in April 2019, welcomed daughter Marlie-Mae in June 2019, and welcomed their second daughter Lola in February of 2021. After a three-and-a-half year engagement, Matty and Laura finally tied the knot in November 2022 in a ceremony held in Ulladulla, New South Wales.

STATUS: Married with kids!

Sophie Monk and Stu Laundy, “The Bachelorette Australia” Season 3

Network Ten

Former Bardot singer Sophie Monk made headlines when she joined “The Bachelorette” for its fourth season in 2017, and quickly reminded the Australian public why they’d fallen in love with her all those years ago. Unfortunately for Sophie, she didn’t find her happily ever after on the dating show, though, and called it quits with Stu after only six months.

In an Instagram post (which, incidentally, is how Stu found out that the couple were dunzo), Sophie said that although the couple gave it their “best shot”, the relationship, unfortunately, “just didn’t work out”. In March 2022, Sophie married marketing executive Joshua Gross in an intimate, at-home ceremony.

STATUS: Broken up

Nick Cummins, “The Bachelor Australia” Season 6

Network Ten

Welcome to “The Bachelor Australia”‘s flop era. In the twist that shocked the nation, old mate Honey Badger decided not to pick anyone at the end, leaving the friendship between Brittany Hockley and Sophie Tieman as the most enduring relationship formed over the season. But hey, at least he got to promote his book, right?

STATUS: Ugh

Ali Oetjen and Taite Radley, “The Bachelorette Australia” Season 4

Network Ten

In 2018, Ali and Taite seemed to have found lasting love after she chose him in the finale episode of Season 4, but unfortunately, things didn’t work out for the couple, who announced their split on Instagram after two years of dating.

“It is with the heaviest heart that we want to let everyone know that we have decided to take time apart in order to give each other space and time to fully focus on our own paths,” Ali wrote on Instagram in 2020. “We both love each other deeply and only want the best for each other and both want the ultimate happiness for each other and hopefully our paths will reconnect again soon.”

“We’ve decided to be open with this so there’s no speculation and so we expect love, respect and kindness in return. I love you Taite,” Ali concluded.

Taite also posted to Instagram with the same caption, ending it with, “I love you ali”.

STATUS: Broken up

Matt Agnew and Chelsie McLeod, “The Bachelor Australia” Season 7

Network Ten

After Nick’s mess of a season, it seemed like astrophysicist Matt was all set to get “The Bachelor” back on track and give us the love story we all hoped for. Things were looking good — he actually chose someone! — when he got together with chemical engineer Chelsie, but alas, the couple didn’t go the distance.

Despite both living and working in Melbourne, the couple weren’t as compatible in the real world as it seemed, and split after just two months.

STATUS: Sad! Broken up.

Angie Kent and Carlin Sterritt, “The Bachelorette Australia” Season 5

Network Ten

One of Australia’s most beloved “Gogglebox” stars, fans of “The Bachelorette” were thrilled to watch down-to-earth Angie on her journey to love. Unfortunately, though, it was a short-lived romance that didn’t go the distance. After months of speculation from fans, the couple confirmed that they had called it quits in July 2020.

In an Instagram post, Angie wrote: “Hi everyone, there’s been a lot of speculation and rumours about the state of my relationship with Carlin. We have not wanted to confirm up until this point because there have been much bigger issues going on in the world and we’ve both been taking space to think about what we really want.”

STATUS: Broken up

Locky Gilbert and Irena Srbinovska, “The Bachelor Australia” Season 8

Network Ten

It was a season that began with a few raised eyebrows; Locky had just come off “Australian Survivor: All Stars“, during which he had a flirtation with tribemate Brooke Jowett.

On top of that, Locky had another hurdle in his way on his path to love: COVID. The first “Bachelor” season to film through the pandemic, Locky made it work and found love with nurse Irena.

The pair are still smitten with one another, and according to Irena, have “pretty much planned [their] next five years”, according to a comment she left on Instagram.

Recently, the pair were married in a flower filled ceremony in South Melbourne and announced that they’re awaiting the birth of their first child in early 2024.

STATUS: We’re back, baby! Married with a bub on the way!

Elly Miles and Frazer Neate, “The Bachelorette Australia” Season 6

Network Ten

The 2020 season of “The Bachelorette” was perhaps a trial run for “The Bachelors”, in that it featured sisters Elly and Becky Miles on their quests for love. Elly made the top five in Matt Agnew’s season of “The Bachelor” before tension between Elly and Abbie Chatfield saw Matt send Elly home in a shocking elimination twist.

However, Elly’s Bachelor Nation journey was far from over. The next year, she returned, with her sister Becky in tow, to share “Bachelorette” duties. Elly chose Frazer Neate to be her man, but the pair called it quits soon after.

“It’s a bit of a quick turnaround to go from thinking you’ve found the person you want to be with forever to being single again,” Elly said in an Instagram video posted in December 2020. “I wasn’t happy for a little while there and I know from my end, I gave it absolutely everything I had.”

STATUS: Broken up

Becky Miles and Pete Mann, also “The Bachelorette Australia” Season 6

Network Ten

Joining “The Bachelorette” alongside her sister Elly, Becky had high hopes for a romantic, fairytale ending, but what she got was… quite the opposite.

After she choose café owner Pete in the finale, Becky revealed on Instagram just hours after the episode aired that the couple were no longer together. Following this revelation, Becky told The Daily Telegraph Pete had dumped her on Facetime after spending just three days as a couple after filming wrapped.

STATUS: Broken up

Jimmy Nicholson and Holly Kingston, “The Bachelor Australia” Season 9

Network Ten

It was “The Bachelor”‘s most recent (and lowest-rated) season ever, but the good news is, Bachie Jimmy Nicholson is still going strong with his chosen partner Holly Kingston.

The two immediately moved in together and purchased an apartment in North Bondi, Sydney, and announced their engagement in August 2022 while in Sorrento, Italy, during a European getaway. They tied the knot in August 2023.

STATUS: Married!

Brooke Blurton and Darvid Garayeli, “The Bachelorette Australia” Season 7

Network Ten

Brooke Blurton first appeared on Season 6 of “The Bachelor”, and later went on to become the very first Indigenous and pansexual Bachelorette in the history of the franchise.

Unfortunately, though, true love was not on the cards for Brooke at the end of her stint as the Bachelorette, and despite her deep connection with Darvid, the two just didn’t end up working out.

Darvid first announced the couple’s split on Instagram at the beginning of 2022, writing:

“Starting the new year off with an end to a chapter and hopefully the beginning of another. Unfortunately, Brooke and I have parted ways. While we genuinely thought we were each others person, things change and that’s okay.

“Please respect our privacy and that at the end of the day we are both just people with feelings.”

Brooke and Darvid had moved in together after the show had ended, and while they appeared as close as ever on social media, behind closed doors it was a different story.

STATUS: Broken up

Thomas Malucelli and Leah Cummings, “The Bachelors Australia” Season 10

Thomas Malucelli and Leah Cummings
Network 10

Shortly after “The Bachelors” season 10 finale went to air, Leah Cummings and Thomas Malucelli announced that they had parted ways. The break up came as a shock to fans of the show, as the pair got engaged in the season finale.

Early in 2023, Thomas was said to be linked to another “Bachelors” lady, Bella Johnston.

In an interview with 10 Play, Thomas admitted that he and Leah just weren’t compatible together, regardless of the love and care that they shared.

Status: Broken up

Felix Von Hofe and Jess Navin, “The Bachelors Australia” Season 10

Felix Von Hofe and Jess Navin
Network 10

Unfortunately, “The Bachelors Australia” didn’t produce any lasting relationships, including Felix Von Hofe and Jess Navin.

The pair finished the season without an impending engagement and went on to live in separate parts of the world. A combination of poor communication and distance admittedly put a strain on Jess and Felix’s relationship, which led to their split.

In the end, they realised just how different they both were.

Status: Broken up

Jed McIntosh and Alésia Delaney, “The Bachelors Australia” Season 10

Jed and Alesia
Network 10

Jed McIntosh and Alésia Delaney were the last hope for Season 10’s happy endings, but it seems they couldn’t make it last. In the weeks after “The Bachelors Australia”‘s last episode, there was plenty of speculation brewing about the state of their relationship.

Both parties fended off the rumours with Instagram stories. But on one faithful day in February 2023, Jed decided that it was finally time to address the split.

“Alésia and I, even though we’re not currently in a relationship, we are still continuing to grow together,” the musician stated on his story.

Status: Broken up

Luke Bateman and Ellie Rolfe, “The Bachelors Australia” Season 11

From the start of their season, Luke and Ellie were a match made in heaven. They knew it, we knew it and the 23 other hopeful Bachelorettes probably knew it too. It’s a wonder the pair didn’t stop the cameras as soon as they met.

In the finale Luke gifted Ellie a gorgeous, infinity ring as a commemoration of their time together on the show. And we’re happy to report that the pair are still going strong even after filming has wrapped. Network 10 confirmed in a post-finale update that the pair are prepping for “their happily-ever-after” together.

Status: Head over heels in love!

Ben Waddell and Mckenna Lea, “The Bachelors Australia” Season 11

Instagram @bwadd

In the words of “America’s Next Top Model” host Tyra Banks, “I was rooting for you. We were all rooting for you”. Unfortunately, not all fairytales have happy endings — especially when it comes to “The Bachelor” love stories. You know where this is going…

Regardless of their chemistry and Ben’s sweeping declaration that Mckenna has changed his life and his character in a very short time frame, the pair have decided to part ways. While we’re sure the reason for the split is sure to be revealed soon, we hope there is still a glimmer of hope for their match in the future.

Status: Broken up

Wesley Senna Cortes and Brea Marshall, “The Bachelors Australia” Season 11

Instagram @breamarshall

When Wesley decided to keep his attentions exclusively focused on Brea, well into their season, we thought for sure that there would be a proposal awaiting them at the end of the series. But boy oh boy, were we sorely mistaken.

Brea and Wesley were an adorable match but the stars didn’t align for their values and thoughts on the most important of issues. On top of that, the family visits were an absolute disaster with Wesley allowing his stepmother to speak for him, leaving Brea in tears.

Perhaps, it’s a good thing that they’ve decided to pursue their love interests in other people outside of the competition. In the end, Brea’s decision to choose herself instead of accepting Wesley’s proposition to be his girlfriend was the best thing for both parties.

Status: Didn’t make it out together
