Among notable celebrities sitting front row at Coach during New York Fashion Week, “Euphoria” actor Angus Cloud stole the show. The breakout star showed up in a colorblock Coach shearling jacket worn over a white turtleneck shirt and blue corduroy jeans. A white pair of sneakers tied everything together, but as it turns out, his coolest accessory was the bag of Hot Cheetos he enjoyed during the show. Other buzzy front-row sightings included actor Tommy Dorfman, Reneé Rapp from “The Sex Lives of College Girls,” and internet stars Wisdom Kaye and Rickey Thompson.

But arguably the celebrity who created the biggest buzz was Megan Thee Stallion. The 27-year-old superstar donned an all-black Coach leather set that made her arrival hard to miss. The midriff-baring ensemble, which looked straight from the set of “The Matrix,” featured a cropped corset, a belted miniskirt, and a sharp trench coat. To complete the look, she wore Coach sunglasses, gold hoops, and the brand’s signature pillow Tabby shoulder bag. The “Savage” rapper excitedly shared her appearance on Instagram, but longtime fans totally saw it coming. Megan Thee Stallion has been part of the Coach family since 2019, when she was hired as a brand ambassador.

There was an undeniable romance in the clothes juxtaposed with a sharp sense of grit.

Indeed Coach invited a cool cast of guests who gathered at Pier 36 for a spectacle of nostalgic and grunge-inspired looks. Similar to other fashion designers who looked to the past for inspiration, Stuart Vevers turned to the brand’s storied history for inspiration. What materialised was a collection of pastel babydoll dresses, gender-fluid corduroy skirts, edgy leather vests, and oversize shearling jackets that capture the brand ethos. There was an undeniable romance in the clothes juxtaposed with a sharp sense of grit. Against a fabricated suburban backdrop, heritage silhouettes were reimagined through a ’90s grunge lens. Think flannel shirts and graphic tees earmarked for a younger generation that values individuality and boldness. Ahead, check out the front-row stars and some looks from the collection.
