All the Best Memes About the Animal Crossing Update

The Animal Crossing 2.0 update released earlier than expected last week, just in time for us to cancel our weekend plans and return to our islands instead. People are loving the new content the update added to the game, like extra house exteriors, a first-person view, cute recipes and more precise control over items when you’re rearranging your home.

The update added more than 9000 new cosmetics too, like accessories ranging from cute panda backpacks to a pair of sunflower-shaped sunglasses. There are also new pieces of furniture, artworks for your home, new hair styles and decorations for your island.

Besides new cosmetics, the update also brought back several popular mechanics from Animal Crossing New Leaf, including The Roost coffee shop and Island Ordinances. You can also finally leave ladders in place to make navigating your island easier and there are lots of new DIY recipes to collect. The cooking recipes seem to be the favourite so far, with players now able to make things like apple pie, pancakes and heaping bowls of gnocchi. Why a game about living your ideal island life didn’t already include the best kind of pasta is beyond me, but here we are.

Another clear favourite is the new first-person camera mode, which players have been using to get a better look at their island. Perhaps the best use of the camera mode, though, is the fish-eye lens photos people have been snapping of their island residents. If you thought your villagers were cute before, wait until you see them up close like this.
