Chlöe took a spin in the makeup chair and emerged sans eyebrows on April 4. On her Instagram Stories, the “In Pieces” artist shared a behind-the-scenes look at her hair and makeup during a photo shoot. “Whoaaa are we feelin the look?” Chlöe captioned a video of herself sharing a 360-degree view of her new face. The focal point of the futuristic look was her metallic eyebrows, composed of adjoining chrome rings in various sizes.

At first glance, it seems Chlöe might have shaved off her eyebrows for good. To achieve her wild metallic look, though, it appears she kept her eyebrows intact, covering them with an opaque foundation instead of stripping them away completely. Her beauty team paired the brows with a glossy, neutral lip, thick lashes, and smoky white eyeshadow. Letting the makeup shine, her hairstylists swept back her hair into a set of sleek braids.

Recently, celebrities have been bolder about experimenting with unexpected eyebrow trends. In February, Julia Fox dyed her pencil-thin eyebrows a deep cherry color to match her red hair. Others have chosen to completely shave their eyebrows off, with Doja Cat taking it one step further and covering her browless face in gold paint. Bleached brows have also been a huge trend in recent months, with celebrities like Maisie Williams, Dove Cameron, Nicola Peltz Beckham, and Noah Cyrus taking part.

In subsequent video clips and photos shared on her Instagram account, Chlöe’s regular eyebrows were back in place, with no sign of chrome appliqués in sight.
