“MAFS” fans have been eagerly awaiting confirmation of the rumoured romance between Evelyn Ellis and Duncan James, and now, the couple has confirmed that they are indeed dating. Finally!
In an interview with 9Entertainment, the couple confirmed their relationship status, adding that they were excited to finally share the news with their fans.
“Are you in a relationship?” Evelyn asked at the beginning of the clip shared on Instagram.
“Yes I am. Well, yes we are!” Duncan replied.
“We are in a relationship. This is Evelyn and Duncan’s hard launch,” Evelyn added.
The 27-year-old went on to say that the announcement felt “kind of exhilarating in a weird, freeing way”.
“Yeah, weight off the shoulders, I can stand tall,” Duncan added.
According to Duncan, he and Evelyn started hanging out shortly after the show finished filming. As they spent more time together, they began to develop feelings for each other, and before they knew it, they were in a full-blown romance.
“Everyone’s sort of friends in the cast, and obviously me and you living in Sydney probably hung out a little bit more,” he said.
“All of a sudden we went out on a couple of nights and some of the warm, fuzzy feelings happened in my stomach and I thought, ‘Oh what’s this, how are we going here?’. And then one thing led to another.”
When asked to describe their chemistry, Duncan said, “Just straight-up passion with a sprinkling of best friend”.
27-year-old model Evelyn was a late addition to the show, and she was paired with Rupert Budgen. Meanwhile, 36-year-old cyber security director Duncan tied the knot with Alyssa Barmonde. However, both contestants ended up breaking up with their respective partners during the final vows.
Whether Duncan and Evelyn’s relationship will stand the test of time remains to be seen, but we’re excited to finally have this news confirmed!
